Stefano Gallici starts as creative director of Ann Demeulemeester.

Belgian designer brand Ann Demeulemeester has appointed Stefano Gallici as its new creative director, and its first collection will be unveiled in Paris on September 30.

After studying at the prestigious IUAV University of Architecture and Design in Venice, Stefano Gallici started his career in Antwerp as an assistant to Haider Ackermann. Stefano Gallici has been working at the Italian fashion and luxury retailer Antonioli Group since 2009 and joined the brand as a menswear designer after the group acquired Ann Demeulemeester in 2020.

Claudio Antonioli, founder of Antonioli, said: "Stefano immediately articulated a strong creative and a clear vision for the Ann Demeulemeester brand. He embodies the DNA of the brand and has an eye for the future."

Although Stefano Gallici is still "little known" in the industry and has a low social media following, his previous interpretation of the dark romantic rock style of the Demeulemeester man has attracted a group of admirers.

The Ann Demeulemeester brand has now moved to Via Savona, an important fashion district in Milan. The brand employs more than 50 staff, 12 of whom are designers, and is planning a relaunch to modernize the brand's original style and focus on the mid-price segment.
