Dan Ruff becomes CEO of Belmond, a luxury hotel brand owned by LVMH Group.

Belmond, a luxury hotel brand under the French luxury goods giant LVMH Group, has appointed Dan Ruff as CEO, succeeding Roeland Vos, effective July 1.

Dan Ruff has served as Belmond's chief operating officer since 2018. Prior to that, Dan Ruff held senior positions at Wyndham Hotel Group and Starwood Hotels & Resorts, covering operations, asset management, and mergers and acquisitions functions.

In his new role, he will oversee luxury properties including the Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, the Cipriani Hotel in Venice, and the historic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train. He will report to Stéphane Rinderknech, who is not only CEO of the group's hospitality business, LVMH Hospitality Excellence, but also chairman and CEO of LVMH's beauty division.

Stéphane Rinderknech expressed his gratitude to Roeland Vos in an internal memo, saying that Dan Ruff, who has more than 20 years experience in the hotel industry, has a deep accumulation of operational, commercial, and asset management expertise. "Since joining Belmond five years ago, he has demonstrated a remarkable ability to lead all property operations through the shockwaves of the COVID-19 pandemic and the incredible turnaround from 2021. There is no doubt that he will be a great asset in the pursuit of Belmond's successful journey to new level."
