Luxury industry executive Gaetano Sciuto will serve as CEO of Maison Margiela.
Italian luxury group OTB's Maison Margiela has appointed executive Gaetano Sciuto recently as its new chief executive, effective July 17.
Gaetano Sciuto succeeds Gianfranco Gianangeli, who, before joining Maison Margiela, worked at Giorgio Armani, where he has been CEO of the Americas division since 2019, after he decided to move to new areas. He served for Fendi Americas as president before that for five years. He initially joined Fendi in 2008 as Director of Licensing and Accessories, spearheading Fendi's global growth across product categories such as watches, home, fragrance, eyewear, loungewear, textiles, and children'swear.
Graduated in Business and Economics from Bocconi University in Milan and with a master's degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, Arizona, he has worked for Sebastian International, Lotto Sport, and Sola International, among others.
At the same time, Renzo Rosso stepped down as chairman of the Maison Margiela board of directors and was replaced by his son, Stefano Rosso. Stefano Rosso is currently the CEO of Brave Virtual Xperience (BVX), a fork of OTB dedicated to Web3 and the Metaverse, and he is already a member of the OTB Group Board of Directors.
"The new role of Stefano Rosso and the arrival of Gaetano Sciuto will be decisive in enhancing the brand's potential and guiding it into the next phase of expansion," said Renzo Rosso.
