Dior Pre-Fall Collection 2023 Held in Mumbai as Scheduled

Mar 30, 2023

The Dior 2023 pre-fall collection, as their creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri said on March 14, was going to be held in Mumbai on March 30 as scheduled. The whole show revolves around Mumbai's characteristic textile crafts to explain the indissoluble bond between Dior and Indian traditional crafts, and it uses the open space in front of the Gateway of India as the show venue.

This pre-fall collection used a number of models with Indian characteristics, including retro hair buns, and many of the clothes on their bodies have the features of local traditional crafts.

The Dior 2023 pre-fall collection designed a variety of solid-colored long dresses and long shirts, which are quite similar to Indian-style daily wear. There are also off-the-shoulder dresses and tube-top dresses. They are simple, but with a sense of quality.

In addition, among the 99 looks of clothing in the audience, we have to mention the embroidery and printing patterns full of traditional Indian styles, which can be said to be the top priority of this collection theme. Whether it is on the edge of the coat or on the dress, it incorporates the unique inspiration brought by traditional Indian craftsmanship to Maria Grazia Chiuri. Even if it is printed on black clothes, it can show the vitality of quality through the interlacing of light and shade.

There are also large flower patterns spread on exquisite fabrics. Especially the white-based suit makes people feel quiet and relaxed, as if they are integrating with nature.

The accessories of the whole show mainly use multi-layered pearl necklaces, and the handbags are in the same pattern as the clothes. Stepping on a pair of comfortable flip flops or ordinary thick-soled slippers can feel like being in the birthplace of yoga.

Dior's creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, once said in her post: The Indian Chanakya workshop is not only a place to inherit and exchange Indian embroidery, but also inspires and has a major impact on her personal and professional inspiration. I believe that it is not difficult for everyone to see the shadow of Indian traditional craft embroidery in this pre fall collection!
